domus3d_05

DomuS3D 360 is the app that allows you to easily share all that is created with DomuS3D® through the cloud.
If you didn't download DomuS3D 360 for free yet, you can do it now via the link at the bottom of this page, or you can just click here for more informations. To share photos and panoramas (even stereoscopic for virtual reality devices) through the cloud there are very few steps. Let's see them.

To get started you need to have the image, which must have been processed already, loaded in a DomuS3D® tab.

You can load the image you are sharing by clicking FILE >> External documents >> Open image >> choose the path for the folder where the image is located. In this case we will see how to publish a stereoscopic VR panorama. As you can see here below, the stereoscopic panorama is composed of a series of 6 images for the right eye and other 6 for the left eye, which the VR viewer automatically put together so as to give the feeling of immersion in a three-dimensional environment.

Now that the image is ready, let’s see how to upload it in the cloud.

step_1

STEP 1.
Clicking on the button “Save Panorama 360”, you will enter the mask you can see on the left.

  • In "Source" section, select the file name of the image you are working on.
  • In "Destination" section, enter the name of the project that you are creating, or accept the name that is automatically created by the program (in this example the name is “Virtual Tour di Jack White”).
  • The flag “Share immediately” allows the user to skip following steps; this is the case when you would like to publish only one panorama with no other elements. On the contrary, unchecking this flag allows access to all the advanced options for project creation

By clicking ‘OK’, you will be brought to the window where you can navigate the panorama (see next image).

step_2 STEP 2.

In the left column you can see the preview of the panorama you loaded a few moments ago. If you wish, you can add in more images to your virtual tour as well as creating more elements i.e ‘rooms’. This way, once we have loaded all the elements in the editing phase, you can jump from one panorama to another as if you could shift your point of view from one point to another. If you would like to add a second panorama to your project, it can be added in the same way as we did with the first one (see STEP 1)

step_3

In this case, you need to select "Existing Virtual Tour" option in the Destination group: in this way you add the additional panorama to the existing project. In case there are available more than one project, choose the correct one to add the new panorama to. Click OK and get back to the panoramas navigation mask.

step_5 Now in the left column you can see the preview of the second panorama, with a red marker to indicate that the second image is not connected to any of the existing others.
STEP 3.
In order to connect each other the panoramas, drag the thumbnail of the second panorama and drop it in the position where you want the hotspot to appear. In the image you can see on the left the hotspot has been placed right in the center of the door; if you click on it, you will jump to the panorama.
Repeat the same process in order to create the return hotspot from the second panorama to the first one.
step_4 STEP 4.

It  is also possible to complete the panorama adding material details, such as images, description, etc.. Click the right mouse button over the material you want to describe, (i.e. over the toilet) , the select Add hotspot. Link the image containing the material information, and confirm. Repeat this command for any material you want to provide information for.

step_6 STEP 5.
It is time to upload the project on the Cloud. Go to the Layout window, select command File --> Share: the sharing panel allows you to decide where to export the project and its content. Select the tab called Share on the Cloud and select the project you want to export. At the bottom of the window you can choose whether to make the project available for all DomuS3D® 360 users, or if leave it confidential for specific customers: in this case those customers will receive the project download code by mail.
step_7 Confirm the upload operation clicking "Upload to Cloud" and wait for the upload. When upload is complete, the cloud icon at the bottom/left corner of the screen turns green. Click the "View" button in order to open the "Cloud" page, where you can manage all projects currently available in your Cloud quota. From here we can manage the project and change the publishing policy
step_8

In the Cloud page you can, for example, flag the project as public or confidential, send the download code to authorized customers, etc…
